The pair of spinoff series — FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International -- will conclude their runs in the spring, with Most Wanted wrapping up after six seasons and International after four.
This decision comes despite the shows consistently ranking among the top 25 on network television, drawing an average of approximately 7.5 million viewers each week across various platforms, according to Nielsen ratings.
Despite the cancellations, CBS will retain its flagship series, which continues to enjoy a multi-season order extending through the 2026-27 season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Furthermore, the network is developing a new series tentatively titled FBI: CIA, which is set to be introduced through a backdoor pilot later this season, the Hollywood Report said.
This move indicates CBS’s ongoing commitment to the FBI brand, albeit with a shift in focus.
While Most Wanted and International may not have garnered the same audience size as their flagship counterpart, their solid performance has made them significant contributors to CBS’s lineup.
With the conclusion of Blue Bloods and now these FBI spinoffs, CBS faces the challenge of filling the void left by some of its most-watched programming.
